Four Tips to Stay Slim During Spring Break

Drab winter weather that has lingered far too long this spring has surely prompted all of us to book the next flight someplace warm for Spring Break. Before you open that bag of complementary nuts or order a mixed drink, keep these four tips in mind to help you keep your killer figure.


1.  Drink more water. This is one of the oldest tricks in the book. When you sit down to any meal, before you order, down a glass of water. It will help satiate you and when the food does arrive you won’t eat as much because you will feel full.

2.  Eat half. When you are on vacation, you are eating out a lot. What you may not realize is that the portions you get when you eat out are often twice as much food as you normally eat and need! When your plate arrive, divide it in half and try eating only half of what you are given. Chances are, it will be more than enough.

3.  Stay away from fruity mixed drinks. If you are going to order cocktails, keep them clean. Cocktails that have a lot of ingredients and are advertised to be on the sweeter side may have loads of lurking sugars and extra calories. Keep it light and opt for club soda with a twist of lime as you mixer.

4. Carry snacks. When you are out and about sight-seeing, you will need to refuel. Pack your own snacks like dried fruit and nuts to give you a boost rather than what is available on the street or from a fast food stand
